Do you offer a try on service?

Yes we do! we are based in St Albans, Christchurch. Our try on times for the week ahead are posted on our Instagram story every Friday, on a first in first served basis. Our try on fee is $10 (maximum of 3 people) however, this is redeemable upon renting with us - after your time slot, you will be sent a discount code for $10 off your rental, this will expire at midnight on the day of your try on. 

 

Do you offer postal try ons?

Sadly we do not. Please understand that with such a quick turnover time in between bookings, if the item is delayed getting back to us it would interfere with rentals. However, if you are unsure about the sizing or fit of a garment, please get in touch via Instagram @thedesigner.collection, and I would be more than happy to provide you with measurements and/or photos of the dress on.

 

Is your pricing for one day?

Yes, our pricing is to hire a garment for one day. If you are wanting to hire a garment for longer than our standard rental period, please book an Extended Rental.

 

When will my rental arrive/be ready to collect?

If you have booked a postal rental, your garment will arrive 1-3 days prior to your event. If you have booked a pick up rental, your garment will be ready to collect 1-3 days prior to your event.

 

A garment I am wanting to hire is booked out but only by 1 day, can I make this work?

If a garment you are looking at is showing as booked but only by 1 day, it could still be available for your date! We have a safety net between all of our bookings, this caters for any postal delays. However, if the customer before you is a pick up or perhaps a garment makes it back to us quicker than expected we may be able to get this item to you by your desired date. Feel free to check this with us via email or Instagram.

 

Can I take my garment overseas with me?

Yes! We offer a 6 day and 12 day extended rental option. If you are wanting to hire a garment for longer than this, please get in contact with us. Please head to our Extended Rentals for more information.

 

Do I wash the garment before returning it?

Please ensure you DO NOT attempt to wash the garment before returning it to us. This is because some of our garments are very delicate and require dry cleaning. We take care of all the cleaning for our garments.

 

When booking, what date do I select?

Please select the date you are intending to wear the garment for. We will ensure your garment arrives to you 1-3 days prior to your event.

 

When do I need to return my rental (I’ve booked a postal rental)

Please ensure you return your garment the following working day after your event. If you fail to do so you will incur a late fee of $20.00. For example, if you book a garment for Saturday, you will be required to return the garment on the Monday. All you have to do is pop your garment in the return postage slip provided and hand it over the counter at a NZ Post branch. Please DO NOT pop it in a NZ Post box as these parcels need to be scanned.

 

When do I need to return my rental (I’ve booked a pick up rental)

Please ensure you return your garment the following calendar day after your event.  If you fail to do so you will incur a late fee of $20.00. For example, if you book a garment for Saturday, you will be required to return the garment on the Sunday.

 

Can I hire just the top or bottom of a set? 

Yes! simply message us via Instagram @thedesigner.collection with what seperate you would like to rent and we will create a discount code for you.

 

What if I change my mind about the dress or it doesn’t fit?

Unfortunately due to the nature of our business we are unable to provide you with a refund or store credit for change of mind, so please carefully read the descriptions and refer to the sizing charts. If you are Christchurch based, you are welcome to swap your garment, subject to availability. If the new garment price is higher than your original booking, you will be required to pay the difference, if it is less than your original booking we will credit you the difference.

 

Can I pick up my garment?

Absolutely! We are based in Christchurch Central and allow pick ups free of charge. Please select this option at the checkout and we will be in touch with our available pick up time slots.

 

What day do I have to book my rental by?

  • Postal rentals must be made by Wednesday 1pm each week for weekend events. 
  • Postal rentals must be made by Sunday 12pm for weekday events. 
  • Pick up orders can be placed up until 12pm the day of your event.

 

Do you rent over Christmas/New Years? 

Yes! However, only a selection of our garments are available during this period, please refer to our 'Christmas & New Year' tab on our website for availability.
